Ozzy Osbourne’s Cause of Death Revealed

The official cause of death for Ozzy Osbourne, a pioneering figure in heavy metal and founding member of Black Sabbath, has been disclosed.

As noted in the death certificate, he passed away at the age of 76. The document highlights that Parkinson’s disease, along with coronary artery disease, was the contributing factor to his death.

It also lists Osbourne’s profession as “a rock legend, songwriter and performer.” Notably, he died surrounded by his family, just weeks following his final performance in Birmingham, England, where he played “Mom, I’m Back Home,” and fans lit up their phones during the show.

During a concert on July 5 at Birmingham’s Villa Park, Black Sabbath performed many of their greatest hits, concluding with the classic “Paranoid.” Before this, Osbourne had indicated that it would be his last concert due to ongoing health issues, which he revealed included Parkinson’s disease diagnosed in 2020.

In his last interview, Osbourne expressed that the “final encore” was deeply meaningful to him. Interestingly, his daughter Kelly got engaged to DJ Sid Wilson during that final performance.

Last week, Osbourne was laid to rest at the Buckinghamshire mansion he and Sharon purchased in 1993. A family friend shared that his funeral was “incredibly emotional.”

Attendees at the private ceremony included family members, bandmates from Black Sabbath, Metallica’s James Hetfield, singer Elton John, goth rocker Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, and Corey Taylor from Slipknot.

Following his passing, the family released a statement saying, “It’s more sadness than mere words that we can tell you that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne had passed away this morning. He was surrounded by love with his family.”

Osbourne leaves behind his wife Sharon and five children: Jessica, Louis, Amy, Kelly, and Jack.
