Rioters Target ICE Office in Washington

Over the weekend, a group in Washington vandalized a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office by throwing rocks through its windows. Local authorities in Yakima, Washington, are treating this incident as an act of arson, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The attack involved rocks being hurled at the building, which resulted in some damage. Reports also indicated that a small fire ignited at the back of the facility.

No injuries have been reported thus far, although it remains unclear if the ICE agents themselves were specifically targeted in this incident, DHS Deputy Chief Tricia McLaughlin noted in a statement.

McLaughlin urged Democratic leaders to support policies benefiting sanctuary cities, especially in light of these escalating attacks on ICE personnel. She pointed out that politicians like Hakeem Jeffries, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, Tim Walz, and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass have contributed to a climate that incites violence against ICE by consistently criticizing the agency.

She stated, “From comparisons with the modern Nazi Gestapo to praise for insurrections, the violent rhetoric from these sanctuary politicians is beyond pale.”

Meanwhile, in Colorado, there are reports involving illegal immigrants from Mexico who allegedly attempted to run over ICE agents during a recent incident in Colorado Springs. Furthermore, in July, ten individuals faced charges for shooting police officers and targeting corrections officers near the Prairiland Detention Center on July 4th.

Amid these threats, DHS has reported a staggering 830% rise in assaults on ICE agents. Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem emphasized that anyone charged with assaulting a federal officer would face the maximum legal consequences.
