Trump states JD Vance would likely be favored for the 2028 Republican presidential nomination.

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump mentioned that Vice President JD Vance would likely support the push for the Republican presidential nomination in 2028.

This statement came during an event at the South Court Auditorium, where Fox News Senior White House correspondent Peter Doucy was present while signing an executive order to establish the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Task Force. Doucy asked if Vance could be seen as a key figure in America’s movement, especially after noting that the president would not be running for a third term.

Doucy remarked to Trump, “We’ve now cleared the entire Republican field. Do you agree that the heir to Maga is JD Vance?”

In response, Trump noted that Secretary of State Marco Rubio could collaborate with Vance, suggesting a potentially strong ticket. “Well, I think I’m probably the most… In all fairness, he’s the vice president and Marco is also someone who might somehow end up with JD,” Trump stated.

“We have some incredible people, some of the folks here on stage. So, it’s obviously too early to make any definitive comments, but he’s doing a great job,” he added. “And he’s probably going to like it at this point.”

Trump also indicated that there are others in his cabinet who could lead the Maga movement.

It’s worth noting that Trump and some of his supporters had previously speculated about him running for a third term, despite constitutional restrictions against it.

Rubio, who lost to Trump in the 2016 primaries, has since established himself as a supporter of the former president.

Recently, Rubio dismissed rumors about potentially becoming the Republican presidential candidate in 2028, instead expressing his support for Vance. “I think JD Vance would be a great candidate if he decides to do it,” Rubio shared in an interview, which aired on the Fox News channel.

Additionally, he praised Vance’s performance as Vice President during the “My Views with Lara Trump” segment, expressing satisfaction with Trump’s current cabinet role.
