Political Tensions: Biden and Harris’ Upcoming Literary Reveals
Political analyst Mark Halperin shared insights recently indicating that former President Joe Biden’s team is preparing to respond to potential challenges from Vice President Kamala Harris, especially in light of her forthcoming book.
Harris’ book, titled “107 Days,” is set to detail her brief campaign for the presidency shortly after Biden allegedly signed a significant $10 million deal with Hachette Book Group for his own memoir.
During a discussion on “Morning Meeting,” Halperin, alongside Sean Spicer and Dan Trenne, dismissed the idea that Biden and Harris coordinated on their book releases. He suggested that if they perceive a threat from Harris, the Biden team is ready to counteract with their own narrative.
Halperin hinted at an intriguing story involving Harris, drawing a comparison to previous political drama. He noted that if Biden’s team feels attacked, they might share a narrative about how they assisted Harris in her rise and the complexities of that relationship.
He referenced an anecdote from John McCain’s 2008 memoir, wherein McCain expressed regret over choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate, implying similar sentiments could be revealed regarding Harris if tensions escalate.
On his own show later, Halperin mentioned that while the Biden administration has aimed to prepare Harris for a possible presidential bid, there are doubts about her readiness for such responsibility.
When questioned about carving out a separate identity in the lead-up to the 2024 campaign, Harris has been advised to “study up” as she navigates her relationship with Biden.
Halperin elaborated that people within the Biden administration have genuinely sought to support Harris, ensuring she engages with numerous world leaders in an effort to bolster her experience. However, he expressed concerns about her preparation for a prominent role, suggesting that, despite these efforts, she hasn’t been fully ready for high-stakes moments.
Fox News reached out to both the Biden and Harris teams for their perspectives, but no immediate response was provided.
