Cincinnati Brawl Victim Speaks Out

A victim injured during the virus brawl in Cincinnati on July 26 shared her experience, saying she had to go into hiding after the incident.

The woman, referred to as “Holly,” explained her situation on Wednesday. She mentioned that, following the assault, she had to hire security and move to a discreet location for safety.

“I had a security team and had to go to a really secret place,” Holly said, reflecting on the chaos. “Just wild.” She went on to discuss her injuries, noting she wasn’t fully aware of their severity until after recovering from a concussion. Unfortunately, some damage might be lasting.

Details of the Incident

“I’ve got a big welt all over my body,” she recounted. She also explained how she avoided wearing a neck brace by using an airport neck pillow instead, hoping to strengthen her neck muscles in the process. But, as she’s been healing, it seems her neck muscles haven’t fully returned to normal. “I have to literally walk around and keep my head up,” she added.

Her doctor informed her she was fortunate to be alive, stating that “she should be dead.” Holly repeated this statement, highlighting the risks: “They said 25% of the time, people die instantly from head injuries like that, and another 25% to 40% can end up in a coma, or, you know…being a vegetable for life.” It’s quite sobering to think about.

Developments in the Case

Meanwhile, Cincinnati police announced the arrest of a sixth suspect connected to the brawl. Aisha Devarn, 25, was apprehended and charged with aggravated riot and felony assault after being taken into custody by police. Footage from the incident shows a large group attacking individuals at the Fourth and Elm intersection during the early hours on July 26. Disturbingly, one woman was knocked unconscious while others continued to punch and kick her.

In total, several suspects have been arrested, including Patrick Rosemond, Jermaine Matthews, Montian Meriweather, Dequila Vernon, and Dominic Kittles. Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Tegge noted that only one person called 911 out of around 100 witnesses at the scene.

A Community Response

There has been a significant outpouring of support for Holly, with a fundraiser surpassing $500,000. Among those who contributed was actor Charlie Sheen, who expressed his solidarity. “My Ohio connection is moving deeply. What happened to you is not tolerated by the ‘true’ Ohioans,” he wrote during his donation, emphasizing the community’s desire for justice.
