Apple’s Major Investment in U.S. Manufacturing Announced
On August 6th, 2025, President Donald Trump and Apple CEO Tim Cook made headlines with a significant announcement regarding Apple’s $600 billion investment aimed at rejuvenating American manufacturing.
In a meeting at the White House, Trump introduced Cook as “one of the greatest and respected business leaders, geniuses and innovators in the world.” He emphasized that this investment marks Apple’s largest commitment in the U.S. to date.
“Today, Apple announces it will invest $600 billion in the US over the next four years, which is $100 billion more than it originally invested. This is the biggest investment Apple has made in the US and anywhere else,” Trump stated. “It’s just an honor.”
“They’re back,” the president remarked.
During the event, Cook unveiled a solid manufacturing initiative aimed at bringing factories and assembly lines to areas where the U.S. economy could benefit. Trump noted these developments are “directing towards all life.”
This investment is projected to create about 20,000 new jobs across the nation, including positions at Apple’s suppliers such as Corning and Texas Instruments.
As part of this expansion, Apple plans to establish a 250,000-square-foot AI server manufacturing facility in Houston and several data centers in various states, including North Carolina and Oregon. Additionally, a modern manufacturing academy will be set up in Detroit to train future workers.
“This is an important step towards our ultimate goal of ensuring that iPhones for sale in the United States are also made in the United States,” Trump declared.
Cook expressed his admiration for Trump, calling him “a great advocate for American innovation” and asserting that “American innovation is central to everything Apple does.” His remarks highlighted the company’s commitment to U.S.-based production.
“Suddenly – this is the first time. New iPhones and all new Apple Watches available on sale anywhere in the world include coverslips made in Kentucky,” Cook pointed out.
