Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia is currently investigating claims that staff members facilitated abortions for students without informing their parents. This comes from reports about incidents at Centreville High School in 2021.
According to the allegations, staff arranged and funded an abortion for a student. The school system expressed its seriousness regarding student well-being, stating they were unaware of such cases prior to these allegations. “We take this very seriously,” FCPS mentioned in a statement.
In discussing whether staff had organized abortions before, the school district said they weren’t aware of prior instances. Their policy encourages discussions between students and their parents about pregnancy, though it does not explicitly require notifying parents about such conversations.
Further, the pro-life community reacted strongly to these claims, stating that a student had an abortion facilitated under the radar. They voiced that this isn’t just a health issue; it’s a concerning exploitation of minors using public resources.
Fox News Digital reached out for more comments from FCPS but has yet to receive a detailed response.
