Family of Five Killed in Tragic Car Accident in Colorado

A devastating accident occurred early Monday morning when a family of five lost their lives in a crash involving a wrong-way driver in Colorado.

They were traveling in a GMC Yukon in the southbound lane of the highway shortly after 7 am. Unfortunately, first responders could not save them despite their efforts.

Victims included two-year-old Andres Cabral Banielos, five-year-old Manuel Cabral Banielos, twelve-year-old Maria Cabral Banielos, thirty-year-old Andrea Banuelos-Salazar, and thirty-four-year-old Manuel Cabral Torres.

The driver of a Ford F-150, aged 25, suffered life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized, according to Colorado State Police.

The Grand County Coroner’s office expressed condolences, stating, “The loss of the whole family is an unspeakable tragedy, and our hearts are with everyone who is grieving during this incredibly difficult time.”

The Cabral Banuelos family resided in Kremling, Colorado, a small community about a hundred miles from Denver.

One relative shared their pain, saying, “In a flash, all five of us were gone. It’s tough for just one person, but five are very difficult. We lost all five at the same time.”

A fundraiser has been established to help with funeral costs and transportation arrangements for the family.

Those who knew Manuel described him as a unifying figure who consistently made efforts to gather family, regardless of the circumstances. “He was the kind of guy who always tried to bring his family together no matter what,” said a relative. “Manny is a great guy, and he will be missed by many.”

As of early July, Colorado had reported 278 traffic fatalities for the year, a notable decrease from 307 the previous year, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
