Pop star Kelly Clarkson has abruptly cancelled the remaining performances for her August residency, “Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions – Las Vegas,” which was announced late Wednesday.
“Regrettably, we must postpone the remaining August dates for our studio sessions in Las Vegas,” she stated in a post on Instagram.
This marks Clarkson’s second last-minute cancellation in just over a month.
The reason for this latest cancellation relates to health issues concerning her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, who is also her talent manager.
“I typically keep my personal life private, but for the past year, my child’s father has been unwell, and now I need to be fully present for them,” Clarkson disclosed.
She shares two children with Blackstock: River, who is 10, and Remington, aged 8.
“We appreciate all the fans who purchased tickets; your understanding means a lot to us,” she expressed.
Her website lists her next scheduled performance for November 2025.
Clarkson previously postponed her residency’s opening night around Independence Day. Fans were taken aback when she had to cancel that performance due to issues with her voice.
“I’m devastated that I have to postpone tonight’s and tomorrow’s shows at Caesars. Preparation and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice, and I want everything to be perfect,” Clarkson shared on Instagram.
Vegas insiders noted that she didn’t want to risk damaging her voice further.
However, another source indicated she’s dealing with “serious hidden battles” that might be affecting her well-being.
This string of cancellations follows her brief disappearance from “The Kelly Clarkson Show” earlier this year, during which she didn’t offer a clear reason for her absence.
The difficult dynamics of her relationship with Blackstock have been ongoing since Clarkson filed for divorce in 2020 after seven years of marriage.
Their divorce involved extensive legal proceedings over custody arrangements, particularly regarding their Montana ranch and spousal support, which was eventually settled in March 2022, granting Clarkson primary custody of their children. Blackstock was obligated to pay monthly spousal support until early 2024.
During a recent show, Clarkson opened up about her challenges with dating. “It can be tough, so I just don’t,” she mentioned on stage.
