Recently, Elon Musk jumped in the spotlight ahead of OpenAI’s launch of GPT-5, promoting his own advanced AI model, Grok 4 Heavy. Just a couple of weeks ago, Musk claimed that Grok 4 Heavy surpasses GPT-5, stating, “Bottom Line: Grok 4 Heavy is smart two weeks before GPT-5 is now, and the G4H is already much better.” His comments came shortly after OpenAI’s announcement introducing GPT-5, which is designed for the extensive user base of over 700 million ChatGPT users and boasts significant advancements compared to its predecessor.

OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, emphasized that GPT-5 represents a major stride toward achieving artificial general intelligence (AGI), likening it to having a group of PhD-level experts at one’s disposal.

Musk’s company, Xai, touts Grok 4, released on July 9, as “the most intelligent model in the world,” with Grok 4 Heavy positioned as its most powerful version. Meanwhile, news emerged that the federal government is integrating ChatGPT throughout its agencies, aligning with former President Trump’s commitment to ensure the U.S. takes the lead in AI development and regulation.

During a recent Washington Technology Summit, Trump reiterated America’s pioneering role in AI, proclaiming, “The United States is the country that started AI racing… and I’m here today to declare that America will win it.”

As for OpenAI and Xai, neither organization has responded to requests for comments on the ongoing developments.
