Jonathan Owens, husband of Simone Biles, involved in fight at Bears camp

The Bears were in high spirits during Tuesday’s practice, which turned into a bit of a brawl. Jonathan Owens, who is married to Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, was notably in the thick of things.

During this session, the team was decked out in full pads and focused on various goal line drills, leading to some intense physical play. Apparently, Owens was practicing the “Peanut Punch” move against Roshun Johnson, which didn’t sit well with Johnson.

Things escalated when Johnson reportedly tossed the ball at Owens, following it up by sending him sprawling onto the grass while expressing his frustration about the hit.

After that, both players continued to tussle on the ground. Although there wasn’t much information on what happened afterward with Owens, Johnson was seen sprinting along the sidelines post-incident.

This season marks Owens’ second with the Bears. Prior to this, he spent four seasons with the Texans and another with the Packers. While safety was his main role for much of his career, marrying Biles in April 2023 definitely brought him into the spotlight.

Last season, Owens participated in 17 games for Chicago, starting in five of them. He had previously started 28 out of 34 games at Houston and for the Packers.

At this wild practice, chaos ensued as wide receiver Roma Odunze had his helmet ripped off by a defender, while Tyler Scott made a significant block on safety Jacuan Buscathar before things were broken up.

In the trenches, left tackle Braxton Jones and defensive end Austin Booker wound up getting involved with defensive tackle Gelbondexter Senior, pushing Jones down to the ground.
