Jaime King required to disclose her finances after not paying more than $100,000 to divorce attorneys.

Jaime King is facing claims of failing to pay over $100,000 in attorney fees related to her divorce from Kyle Newman. Following their contentious breakup, the “Dixie Heart” actress has been ordered to appear in court to address this unpaid amount. Reportedly, the fee to the previous law firm totals $98,441.16, and the firm could also receive interest of $2,000 on that amount.

In a recent ruling, Judge Shelley Kaufman scheduled King’s court appearance for September 16. Should she fail to show up, there’s a possibility of her arrest. A May 2024 order from Judge Joshua D. Wayser stated that King was required to pay the fees to the law firm within 30 days, noting that it was appropriate for high earners in a marriage to cover such costs.

Over a year later, the law firm claims they have not yet received any payment. A representative for King mentioned this was the first time they had heard about the submission and highlighted the ongoing media scrutiny surrounding the divorce, emphasizing the stress King has faced while trying to prioritize her children’s well-being.

In terms of her custody situation, King had lost physical custody of her sons, James, 11, and Leo, 9, after being evicted from her Los Angeles residence due to over $42,000 in unpaid rent. While the judge ruled that she and Newman would share legal custody of the children, he retains physical custody. This decision came after King was required to undergo six months of rehabilitation for substance issues, which she did not complete.

Newman filed for sole custody in October 2024, claiming King had been “drunk” while responsible for their children. This ongoing legal battle has added layers of complexity to their already tumultuous situation, which began when King filed for divorce in 2020 after 13 years of marriage. They reached a settlement in 2023.

In light of her eviction and custody issues, King has been trying to communicate her commitment to healing and moving forward, hoping for understanding during this challenging time.
