Casandra “Cassie” Ventura has returned to social media after her testimony in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial earlier this year, and she seems to be in good spirits.
The “Me&U” singer, who recently welcomed her third child with her husband Alex Fine in May, shared a humorous video on her Instagram story that featured jokes about postnatal life on Thursday.
The clip showcased a man dancing to “Wild Thoughts,” a hit song by DJ Khaled featuring Rihanna.
In the comments, she added, “Fact. Little by little lol.”
At 38, Ventura appears to be feeling much more positive than she was just a few months back.
During the high-profile trial, she testified about a 2016 incident where Combs was captured on surveillance video assaulting her in a hotel lobby.
She shared details of various abusive occurrences throughout their relationship, including an infamous incident she referred to as a “freak-off,” where she claimed to have been with a sex worker while Combs watched from the corner of the room.
On the stand, she stated that one “freak-off” lasted around four days, during which she suffered numerous medical issues, such as urinary tract infections and mouth pain.
Despite her strong testimony, Combs was acquitted of sex trafficking and assault charges, although he was found guilty of engaging in prostitution.
Following the verdict, Ventura’s legal team made a statement explaining why they considered it a victory.
“This whole criminal process began when my client, Cathy Ventura, had the courage to file a civil complaint in November 2023,” her attorney Doug Widor said in July.
Widor noted that while the judge could not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking beyond a reasonable doubt, Ventura’s efforts opened the door for a conviction related to prostitution.
He commended his client for making a significant impact in both the entertainment industry and for justice, concluding that the case has been a long time coming and that they will continue advocating for survivors.
