Small Plane Crashes into Suburban Yard near Atlanta

A late-night training flight turned chaotic when a small aircraft crashed into a front yard in Brookhaven, Georgia, over the weekend.

Authorities report that all three passengers aboard the plane were taken to the hospital shortly after midnight on Saturday.

Photos from the scene depict wreckage tangled in trees and electrical wires. It seems the neighborhood experienced temporary power outages during the incident, as noted by local reports.

Brookhaven police confirmed that officers quickly extricated all three individuals from the aircraft and provided initial medical assistance. Fortunately, no one on the ground was hurt.

Details regarding the conditions of the passengers have not been disclosed, but initial reports indicate one of them was alert and breathing when transported to a nearby trauma center.

The plane was reportedly registered to a local flight school and had taken off from Peachtree DeKalb Airport late Friday evening. It had flown approximately 70 miles before attempting several “touch and go” landings, a common flight training exercise.

However, during its return, it collided with trees and power lines, leading to the crash. Emergency services, including DeKalb County Fire Department and medical response teams, arrived on the scene to assist.

According to officials, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will work with the Federal Aviation Administration to investigate the incident. By early Saturday afternoon, the wreckage had been cleared from the area.
