Trump Moves Obama and Bush Portraits to White House Grand Staircase

Changes to Presidential Portraits at the White House

Recent reports indicate that portraits of the three former presidents have been relocated to a less visible area near President Donald Trump.

A CNN article highlighted that President Barack Obama’s portrait, which was displayed prominently at the White House, has now been moved, along with those of former Presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush. The report, published on Sunday, elaborated on these changes.

According to the outlet, Trump directed his staff to shift the Obama portrait to a spot at the top of a grand staircase, effectively hiding it from the view of the many visitors who tour the White House daily. Additionally, sources noted that the portraits of both Bushes are now located in the staircase area as well.

The CNN article further suggested that Trump is actively involved in all aspects of the White House’s aesthetic. He has even financed two large American flags installed on the grounds. Moreover, his administration has recently unveiled plans to build a $200 million state ballroom, which, as reported by Breitbart News, aims to resolve long-standing space issues while retaining the classic charm of America’s well-known residence.

On another note, the president has contributed his first presidential salary to the White House Historical Society. The article from Breitbart News highlighted an intriguing challenge Trump posed to the Truth Society, suggesting they announce his donation following his visit to the Historical Society.

In his own words, Trump stated, “I’m proud to be the only president (except the late, great George Washington) to donate my salary. My first ‘salary’ went to the White House Historic Association, as we do a lot of necessary renovations to our beautiful ‘homes of people’.” He emphasized the improvements, claiming, “There is a massive improvement and glorification in the White House at a level not seen since its original creation. It will make America great again!”

Regarding the portraits, a new painting has been added to the White House Grand Foyer. This artwork captures a famous moment from a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024, and has replaced Obama’s portrait, which has been moved to a location previously held by a portrait of George W. Bush. The Bush portraits have been shifted to nearby stairs and residential areas, reflecting a continued evolution in the display of executive imagery within the White House.
