Kimmel Considers Moving to Europe, Reveals Italian Citizenship

Jimmy Kimmel hinted at the possibility of relocating to Europe after disclosing that he holds Italian citizenship. The 57-year-old talk show host expressed his discontent with President Trump’s second term during a recent appearance on the “Sara Silverman Podcast,” mentioning that he might leave the U.S. for good.

“I…I have Italian citizenship,” Kimmel shared, showing a hint of contemplation about his future.

Silverman noted that many of Trump’s critics had previously left the country, possibly in response to the political climate.

“What’s going on is… as bad as you thought it was, it’s very bad. It’s incredible,” Kimmel remarked regarding the current situation.

Despite his frustrations, Kimmel mentioned he holds no animosity toward former supporters of Trump who have since changed their views. “There are a lot of people… Now you’re watching these clips of Joe Logan say, ‘Why is he doing this? He shouldn’t deport people.’ People go, ‘You supported him.’ I don’t buy it. I ‘supported you,'” he stated.

He emphasized the importance of leaving room for change, saying, “If you want to change your mind, it’s very difficult. If you want to admit that you were wrong, it’s very difficult.”

Kimmel’s comments came just days after Trump reaffirmed that he believed Kimmel would eventually lose his job, referencing a recent shake-up in late-night television, including Stephen Colbert’s format changes.

Trump didn’t hold back his opinions on the current late-night scene, saying, “Well, that’s not going well. And that really didn’t work for a long time. I’ll say most of the time from the start. Colbert has no talent.”

“I mean, I could take anyone here. I could go out on the beautiful streets and choose a few things to do as well. They’ll get a higher rating than him. He has no talent,” Trump continued, critiquing Fallon and Kimmel in the same breath. “They are next. They are going. I don’t know, but I imagine they’ll get – Colbert has a better rating than Kimmel or Fallon.”
