Emails Reveal Biden’s Abandoned Ship Visit Plans

Recent emails released following a FOIA request show that the Biden administration has scrapped plans for a visit to a ship during an event. According to the records, Biden was scheduled to visit the National Security Multiple Ships (NSMV) while touring the Philadelphia shipyards in July 2023. However, the visit was ultimately canceled due to concerns about access to the vessel.

An email indicated that the U.S. Maritime Administration (Marad) was involved in significant projects at the Philadelphia Shipyards while Biden aimed to highlight offshore wind and clean energy jobs.

On July 17, 2023, Marad officials communicated with members of the Safe Transportation Agency and the Ministry of Transport about the logistics. The next day, a DOT official noted that there seemed to be no coordination between the White House and the agency.

This cancellation came at a time when Biden was already facing scrutiny regarding his physical and mental fitness, especially after a stumble at the Air Force Academy graduation in June 2023. The White House stated that he had tripped over a sandbag but was not injured.

Despite the concerns raised, White House officials have maintained that Biden is capable of fulfilling his presidential duties. Carine Jean Pierre, the then-White House Press Secretary, responded to questions about Biden’s age and health by emphasizing his administration’s accomplishments, including bipartisan efforts like the cancer moonshot.

Fox News Digital reached out to Biden’s office and the Philadelphia Shipyard for comments. Critics are expressing frustration over the perceived mismanagement of the proposed visit, highlighting the challenges of managing such a significant event at one of the nation’s major shipyards.

Some officials defended the decision, arguing that logistical factors and other risks were critical in the planning process, stating that the emails do not provide the full context.
