Newly Declassified Durham Annex Reveals Details on Clinton’s 2016 Campaign

The recently declassified Durham Annex, announced by CIA Director John Ratcliffe last month, has confirmed that the intelligence community was aware of a plan by Clinton’s campaign to discredit Trump in 2016. This strategy accidentally connected to Russia and involved deep state operations.

A new report from the House Intelligence Committee, released by National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard, suggests that the January 2017 Intelligence Community Review may have been fabricated by the Obama administration. This document provided a veneer of legitimacy to the Clinton campaign’s narrative, paving the way for years of criticism and multiple Congressional inquiries.

The documents indicate that the intelligence community and liberal media played significant roles in this alleged hoax. A recently released FBI memo emphasizes their collaboration outside of Congressional oversight.

“This information will be used to indict President Trump,” Sif remarked.

FBI Director Kash Patel’s testimony to Congress outlines the initial accusations that began in 2017, mentioning that Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) approved leaks of classified information to undermine Trump and support the false claims of Russian interference.

The whistleblower, a Democratic intelligence officer with over a decade of service on the House Permanent Select Committee, expressed concerns about the actions of his colleagues in 2017.

During a meeting in February 2017, Schiff mentioned plans to leak minor classified information to the media about Trump. The whistleblower was troubled by this and indicated that the operation was intended to indict Trump.

He suggested that such actions were illegal, noting that unnamed attendees of the meeting felt relieved after hearing his objections. However, the information was not leaked out as planned.

Moreover, the whistleblower described the situation as a “ramp extension,” where decisions were made on who would release this sensitive information.

Notably, Schiff had been previously cautioned regarding his tendency to leak classified data.

When information was leaked to the press, it was often shared without revealing the source. The interview notes specifically mention NBC News as one outlet in contact with the committee.

One leak notably distressed the whistleblower; he reported seeing highly sensitive materials viewed by a select group, including Schiff and Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.). Within a day, that information was mostly verbatim in the news, leading to threats from officials to withdraw access to information unless the leaks ceased. The whistleblower suspected Swalwell’s involvement in these leaks, given his history of leaking classified data.

The whistleblower claimed that the operation was fueled by Schiff’s frustration over Trump’s election victory. He believed that had Clinton won, he would have been appointed as CIA director.

Schiff was intent on creating a narrative similar to the 9/11 Commission, aiming to sway public opinion through the leaks of classified information.

Former CIA Director Mike Pompeo criticized Schiff in 2023 for not safeguarding information shared with Democrats and their staff, which was often disclosed surprisingly frequently.

Despite raising these concerns at the FBI, the whistleblower was informed that the Department of Justice would not pursue an investigation due to lawmakers’ immunity regarding actions taken during House proceedings.

However, with new leadership at the Department of Justice, there may be a reevaluation of these matters, even if the nature of leaks complicates potential legal proceedings.

“We declassified this. Now Congress can assess how classified information has been manipulated for political narratives and whether our institutions are misused against citizens,” Patel stated.

Patel added that the FBI will lead the efforts alongside DOJ, allowing Congress to understand how political power has been exploited and to restore accountability.
