Odell Beckham Jr. reacts angrily to false retirement story

Another round of false news has hit Odell Beckham Jr. recently.

This Tuesday morning, an X account, which ironically mimics ESPN’s Adam Schefter, circulated fabricated claims that the former Giants player had decided to retire from the NFL. The tweet, allegedly posted by @Adamsche1fer, stated, “After 10 seasons in the NFL, Odell Beckham Jr. has decided to retire. Beckham Jr. played for the Giants, Browns, Rams, Ravens, and Dolphins. He announced this on Tuesday.”

The post apparently caught Beckham’s attention. Currently, he is a free agent, with the new season approaching swiftly.

The three-time Pro Bowler responded with humor, tweeting, “lol wtf… when it was announced, it’s funny, but thankful for the concern, but this shxt is not finished yet.”

Just a minute later, he followed up, saying, “We’re not finished yet… Thank you for your HR concerns and have a blessed day.”

And he didn’t stop there. After an hour, he wrote again, joking, “PLZ stop reading everything on the internet and let me retire happy.”

Beckham, who is now 32, recently wrapped up a season with the Dolphins, having played nine games and caught nine passes for a total of 55 yards. He started his NFL career with the Giants, being drafted 12th overall in 2014. Afterward, he had stints with the Browns, Ravens, Rams, and finally the Dolphins.

Over his decade-long career, Beckham has recorded 575 receptions, totaling 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns. Notably, he won a Super Bowl LVI with the Rams.
