Record Low Border Enforcement in July
New data from the Trump administration highlights an unprecedented drop in illegal border crossings for July, according to information provided by the Trump White House and US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
The White House communicated to Breitbart News that the illegal crossings in July 2025 represented “the lowest ever recorded and only a small fraction compared to the last administration.”
Nationwide, there were 24,628 encounters, marking what CBP described as “the lowest monthly total in CBP history for the second month in a row.”
Furthermore, the number of concerns reported by US Border Patrol reached 6,177, which is a 23% decrease compared to the previous month. In June, the figure was 8,018. This reflects a considerable reduction from July of the previous year, when 59,655 illegal crossings were reported.
Specifically, the southwest border had 4,601 concerns in July 2025, indicating a 24% drop. This is significantly lower than the 56,400 concerns reported during Biden’s administration in July 2024.
Interestingly, CBP also noted that July 20th recorded the lowest number of encounters in the agency’s history, with only 116 recorded. Unlike last year, there were no parole releases this July, while the Biden administration had announced 12,365 releases in July 2024.
White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt stated, “For the third month in a row, illegal crossings have been on the decline.” She emphasized that this approach strengthens border security, enhances deterrence, and allows border patrol agents to effectively enforce laws, unlike before.
CBP expressed optimism in an update, stating, “It’s another month for a safe border! The illegal encounters in July have dropped to the lowest ever recorded, only a small fraction of what was happening under the Biden administration.”
Illegal immigration remains a pivotal issue as the 2024 presidential election approaches. Trump’s commitment to reversing the prior administration’s open border stance and ensuring safety for Americans is reflected in these statistics, resonating with campaign promises.
