Kid Cudi Talks Testifying at Diddy’s Trial

Kid Cudi expressed that he “hated every minute” of his testimony in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial. Despite being compelled to take the stand, he felt a sense of peace supporting his ex, who was a key witness.

The rapper and actor, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, discussed his experiences during a recent episode on the Cole Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper. He mentioned that his appearance in court was because he was summoned.

“I had to be there, so I was there,” Mescudi, age 41, said on the latest episode.

Initially, he resisted participating, stating, “In the beginning they asked, and I said no. They asked again, I said no. Then I was summoned and I was like, ‘F-K! S-T! No!’ But I hated it every minute.”

Earlier this year, Mescudi claimed he experienced intense jealousy in December 2011 when Diddy entered his home after discovering his relationship with R&B singer Cassie Ventura.

Mescudi revealed he had a brief romance with Ventura during a break in her relationship with Diddy.

The “Day’n Nite” rapper, who sported a leather bike jacket and jeans in court, accused Diddy of damaging his Porsche with a firebomb in January 2012 following the end of their connection.

“At this point, it was just crazy,” he told Cooper. “I was not good at figuring out whether it was real or not. ‘Am I in a movie, F-K, what’s going on?'”

Though initially hesitant to testify, Mescudi felt it was important to stand by Ventura, who experienced a troubling decade-long relationship with Diddy.

“Kathy is my friend, I love her and I want to see her do well,” Mescudi said. “I’ve always wanted her to thrive and be happy because I know she lived a nightmare. I was there to support her.”

Diddy, age 55, was found guilty last month on two counts related to transportation for prostitution, though he was acquitted of two sex trafficking charges and one assault charge. He faces up to 20 years in prison when sentenced in October.
