Taylor Swift Reflects on Her Surprising NFL Debut Season
Looking back at her unexpected journey through her first NFL season, Taylor Swift shared a memorable moment she never anticipated. In an amusing talk on the “New Heights” podcast with her boyfriend Travis Kelce, the 14-time Grammy winner opened up about the media frenzy surrounding her, especially about a family celebration after the Chiefs’ 2024 AFC Championship win.
“I probably should’ve just run onto the field after we won the AFC Championship. It was my first season with you, and it happened in Baltimore. We were up in the suite celebrating when we won, and then Travis’ mom said, ‘Let’s head to the field.’ I was totally confused, asking, ‘Wait, what do you mean?'” Swift, 35, reminisced about the Chiefs’ 17-10 victory over the Ravens in January 2024.
It was then that Kelce’s mother, Donna, reassured Swift, telling her that her son wanted her there to celebrate, marking his ticket to his fourth Super Bowl. Swift remembered, “She said, ‘Believe me, he wants you there,’ so I thought, okay, I guess I’m going out there. I had never seen so many cameras. It was overwhelming.”
Swift began dating Kelce in the summer of 2023 and made her first appearance at a Chiefs game in September. The moment on the field after the game was surreal for her. “I felt so proud to be there with you,” Kelce expressed to Swift.
Just two weeks later, Swift joined Kelce again for the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory over the 49ers in Las Vegas, where they won 25-22.
Besides her experiences in football, Swift also discussed her relationship with Kelce during a recent conversation, hinting at themes from her upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
The Chiefs are set to kick off their 2025 season on September 5 against the Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil.
