Rep. Jasmine Crockett expresses dislike for the Heritage Foundation

Jasmine Crockett’s Strong Critique of the Heritage Foundation

During a recent panel at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, Rep. Jasmine Crockett from Texas expressed her deep disdain for the Heritage Foundation. “I hate them with everything in my body,” she stated while discussing the organization’s influence with MSNBC’s Al Sharpton and fellow panelist Ayanna Pressley from Massachusetts.

Crockett’s comments followed a reference to a set of policy recommendations from various conservative groups, including the Heritage Foundation, known as “Project 2025.” “It’s probably a little too late,” she remarked, acknowledging the lengthy history of the Heritage Foundation and criticizing their approach to public policy.

She voiced her opposition to the Heartbeat Bill, which prohibits abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, indicating her firm stance on reproductive rights. Furthermore, Crockett claimed that the Heritage Foundation employs focus groups to shift public perception, likening their methods to those of car dealerships. “They try to emotionally engage people,” she explained, highlighting the manipulative strategies that can overshadow logical decision-making.

Her comments suggest a broader concern regarding the emotional tactics used in political messaging, emphasizing how such approaches can lead people to support policies that, in her view, are ultimately harmful. It’s clear that Crockett is passionate about her beliefs and committed to challenging organizations she perceives as detrimental to social progress.
