Fox News Digital Dominates in July

In July, Fox News Digital maintained a strong lead, whereas CNN faced historic lows in audience engagement. This month saw significant events, including a severe flood in Texas and President Trump making headlines for various reasons, particularly after halting his “big beautiful bill.” Other notable stories included the verdict involving Sean Diddy Combs and CBS’s decision to cancel “Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Throughout this, Fox News Digital emerged as the number one news website for unique visitors and total engagement across multiple platforms.

In fact, Fox News Digital outperformed competitors like The New York Times, CNN, CBS News, NBC News, ABC News, and the Washington Post in all key metrics.

Upcoming Streaming Service

Fox Corporation plans to launch its new streaming service, “Fox One,” on August 21st.

Fox News Digital led the competition with an impressive 92 million unique visitors in July, closely followed by NBC News with about 81 million. The New York Times attracted 68 million visitors, and ABC News brought in 43 million. Fox News Digital also recorded 3.9 billion multi-platform views, reflecting a 1% increase from the previous year—a noteworthy achievement for the 53rd consecutive month.

While The New York Times landed in second place with 1.2 billion multi-platform minutes—30% down from last year—CNN fell behind in the critical metrics.

On the front of multi-platform views, Fox News Digital again took the lead with 1.9 billion views, compared to the Times’ 1.4 billion and CNN’s 766 million. This marks the 15th month Fox has topped this category.

Podcast Licensing Agreement

In addition, Fox News has signed a licensing deal for the popular “ruthless” podcast as part of its expansion strategy.

Television Rankings Shift

Fox News Channel ruled July television ratings while CNN hit rock bottom in key demographics.

July proved challenging for CNN, marking its poorest month since February 2015 in terms of multi-platform views and total minutes spent. Fox News also achieved the highest average views per visit among news networks, with 2.4 views per session.

Moreover, Fox News remains the leading force on YouTube, accumulating 332 million video views in July. This eclipses MSNBC’s 318 million, CNN’s 209 million, NBC News at 165 million, ABC News with 121 million, and CBS News’ 51 million. The New York Times accounted for a mere 6.2 million views.

Fox News was also notably the most engaging news brand on social media, recording 98 million interactions, a 134% increase from the previous year. Of those interactions, 71.8 million were on Facebook, 21.1 million on Instagram, and 4.1 million on X.

Fox News Digital, along with CBS News, NBC News, The Washington Post, and ABC News, hasn’t opted to align with brands like CNN or The New York Times but has acknowledged the significant growth in their digital multi-platform visitor counts.
