Patriots' Mike Vrabel intervenes in another fight during joint practice

Vrabel’s Birthday Surprise at Joint Practice

On Thursday, New England Patriots Coach Mike Vrabel experienced quite the unexpected birthday event. He turned 50 that day and ended up getting knocked to the ground while trying to break up a fight during a joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings.

Footage from the practice showed Vrabel jumping into the chaos, and he was knocked down pretty quickly. Thankfully, the situation calmed down shortly after, and, as far as reports go, no injuries occurred.

Earlier that day, Vrabel spoke with the media about the intensity of the practice. He mentioned that these joint sessions often feel like games, and they certainly come with their share of highs and lows. He noted, “We hit some plays. They hit some plays,” capturing the competitive spirit of the day.

This wasn’t Vrabel’s first tussle at practice; he had previously intervened in another fight during a joint session with the Washington Commanders earlier this month. That incident didn’t go as smoothly either, as he ended up leaving with some visible cuts on his face.

Despite these distractions, the Patriots are looking to channel their energy and strength into their upcoming game against the Las Vegas Raiders on September 7th. It’s an important game for them to kick off the season on the right foot.
