Brewers achieve 13th consecutive victory following remarkable comeback

Brewers Rally for 13th Straight Win Over Reds

The Milwaukee Brewers overcame an early seven-run deficit to defeat the Cincinnati Reds on Friday night. This victory marked the Brewers’ 13th consecutive win, further solidifying their position with the best record in Major League Baseball.

Interestingly, this winning streak has now tied the franchise’s single-season record set back in 1987. The Reds had initially surged ahead with an 8-1 lead after just two innings, knocking Brewers All-Star pitcher Jacob Misiorowski out of the game after only one inning, marking his first start since July 28th.

But the Brewers weren’t going to let that get them down. They responded swiftly, scoring five runs in the third inning. Christian Yelich, the designated hitter, started the comeback with an RBI double that pulled the score to 8-2. Then, first baseman Andrew Vaughn hit a three-run homer, making it 8-5. Second baseman Breischer Run followed suit, hitting a double that brought home third baseman Caleb Durbin, narrowing the deficit to 8-6.

After a quiet bottom of the third inning for the Reds, the Brewers continued their offensive charge in the fourth inning.

Yelich, who really had a standout game, loaded the bases and then sent a ground ball down the third baseline, allowing two more runs to score, tying the game at 8-8. In what felt like a pivotal moment, Yelich then hit a solo homer off Reds reliever Scott Barlow, giving the Brewers a 9-8 lead in the sixth inning.

Things didn’t stop there. In the seventh inning, left fielder Brandon Rockridge capitalized on a wild pitch from Sam Moll to extend the lead to 10-8.

It’s worth noting that the Brewers are on fire, winning 28 of their last 32 games and holding the highest record in MLB. With a record of 77-44, they are on the brink of achieving a franchise record for consecutive wins when they face the Reds again in the second game of the three-game series at 6:40 PM on Saturday.
