Affair Leads to Legal Battle for New Jersey Doctor
A former mistress of a well-regarded New Jersey doctor, who is significantly older, has reportedly sent explicit photos of him to his wife. She also threatened to share these images with their two sons, and expressed her grievances about their affair on LinkedIn. This has emerged from a lawsuit filed by the doctor.
Dr. Michelle Kahale, aged 57 and a gastroenterologist at Hackensack Meridian Health, claims that since ending her relationship with 29-year-old software consultant Eileen Marr in 2025, she has been subjected to harassment. Court documents from Manhattan reveal that Marr has shared intimate recordings of the doctor with family members and even threatened to distribute flyers about their affair.
The lawsuit details that Marr indeed sent revealing photos of Kahale to his wife, Cheng Li. Furthermore, she warned that she might send the explicit material to their two college-aged sons.
Last month, Marr was arrested on various charges, including stalking and harassment, which she has denied.
Marr has also criticized Kahale publicly on LinkedIn, dragging the affair into the professional realm. Although she deleted the post, Kahale contends it has negatively impacted her career.
The tumultuous relationship took a turn when Marr discovered around Valentine’s Day last year that Kahale was married. Shortly thereafter, Kahale initiated divorce proceedings, but those were stalled just days after reporting the photo leak to the police.
Marr claims that their relationship crumbled once she learned of Kahale’s continued involvement with his wife. Allegedly, she confronted him about the infidelity, revealing her distress over being misled about his marital situation.
While away in China, Marr received warnings from Li, indicating that she was being manipulated and that her boyfriend was still close to his wife.
Marr contends she did not send explicit images and suggested that someone may have accessed her phone without her knowledge. However, she did admit to discussing the relationship on LinkedIn, justifying it as a means to reclaim her power.
In her lawsuit, Kahale seeks damages for emotional distress and the impact on her career. She alleges that during their year-long relationship, Marr had given her gifts and helped furnish her apartment.
Kahale’s civil action aims for a permanent restraining order and unspecified compensation for what she describes as severe anxiety and threats to her medical profession.
The stress from this situation has reportedly caused her physical symptoms, including chest pain and depression. She expressed in her filing that Marr’s actions have severely undermined her dignity and career.
Although Kahale isn’t directly named in the lawsuit, her attorney confirmed that she is involved. Marr is scheduled to reappear in court on June 8, facing potential prison time if found guilty of the charges against her.
