(Nexstar) – While we can’t say for certain whether Chevy Chase is involved with drive-throughs or if Post Malone designed specific restaurant layouts, Raising Cane’s is gearing up to launch nearly a dozen new locations shortly.
Founded in Louisiana almost 30 years ago, Raising Cane’s has been on a notable expansion spree. The fast-food chain, well-known for its chicken fingers, Texas toast, and special sauce, set a record last year by opening 118 new restaurants.
As of August 2025, the company boasts over 860 locations across the United States, and more openings are on the horizon.
The latest addition opened this month in Riverbank, California. Other new locations include Indiana, Pennsylvania; St. Petersburg, Florida; and Fall River, Massachusetts. At the Fall River spot, eager customers lined up the day prior, according to reports.
Many more restaurants are slated to open in the coming months. Some of these will debut later this month or in early September, while others don’t yet have specific dates available, based on information shared by Raising Cane’s spokespeople.

According to local media, there are reports of a new location opening in Milford, Connecticut, on October 2, although Raising Cane’s has yet to confirm this.
As for opening dates, some locations are getting closer to launch. For instance, the Indianapolis branch is expected to open in December while Morgantown’s restaurant is set to launch in the second half of this year.
Looking ahead to the end of 2025, Raising Cane’s plans to add around 100 new restaurants, as communicated in a recent statement.
Currently, the chain operates about 1,600 restaurants and has around 300 more in various stages of development. They’re keen on expanding into all major cities across the U.S. as they continue to evaluate new opportunities.
Interestingly, eight states—mainly in the northern U.S.—still do not have a Raising Cane’s. Residents in places like Maine and North Dakota have to head out of state for chicken fingers. However, this is likely to change soon.
The company has expressed intentions to open restaurants in all states, with Morgantown being the first in West Virginia.
Raising Cane’s is also focused on strengthening its presence in states where they already operate. For example, in Michigan, the chain plans to establish over 20 new locations in the next decade and has plans for two new openings in Memphis next year, pending city approval for one of them.
These expansions mean job opportunities, and a recent survey indicated that Raising Cane’s employees are among the most satisfied in the fast-food industry, with over 80% recommending the job to friends.
