Game Disruption at Daikin Park
On Sunday afternoon, a game between the Houston Astros and the Baltimore Orioles at Daikin Park was interrupted when fans flooded the field.
Footage captured by a spectator showed fans reaching the pitcher’s mound and running around the infield, creating quite a scene.
Following the commotion, one fan was escorted out in handcuffs.
In terms of the game itself, the Astros faced a tough loss to the Orioles, going down 12-0. This score, in a way, was the most excitement some Astros fans had all day. Orioles pitchers, particularly Dean Kremer, Grant Wolfram, and Corbin Martin, seemed to dominate; Kremer managed to strike out seven Astros in just seven innings and allowed only three hits while throwing 114 pitches.
Interestingly, after the game, Rockies pitcher Jimmy Helget was spotted wearing a shirt that humorously declared, “My arm hurts.”
As for individual performances, Astros catcher Yainer Diaz notably got two hits, making him the only player from his team with multiple hits in that game. On the other side, the Orioles established an early lead, scoring four runs in the fifth inning and five in the eighth, solidifying their win.
A standout for Baltimore was third baseman Jordan Westberg, who went 4-4 with five RBIs, including a thrilling three-run home run off Dubin in the fifth inning. Teammates Gunner Henderson, Adrie Latchman, and Sam Bassaro also contributed with two RBIs each.
With this victory, the Orioles improved their record to 57-67, while the Astros dropped to 69-55.
