Former Tennessee Officer Takes Plea Deal in Adult Video Case
A former police officer from Tennessee has managed to avoid a jail sentence by reaching a plea agreement concerning an incident that gained attention through an explicit video.
In May 2024, reports by Blaze News revealed the Metronashville Police Department’s alleged involvement in a video posted on an adult subscription site, titled “I can’t believe he didn’t arrest me.”
This video reportedly showed officers engaging with women, and indications suggested that a police cruiser was present during the encounters.
During what was described as a fake traffic stop, officers identified themselves as “Officer Johnson.” In the video, a woman apparently lowered her top, offering to touch the officer.
According to a report from WTVF-TV, the adult content model alleged that the officer allowed her to grope him while he watched her grab his crotch.
Scandalously, the officer in question was identified as 35-year-old Sean Herman, serving with the Metronashville Police Department. Video evidence linked him to the incident, confirmed by detectives who recognized his uniform.
It was established that the video was filmed during Herman’s shift on April 26, 2024, at a warehouse parking lot.
Following the revelations, Herman was terminated from his position on May 9, 2024, after three years with the department, with officials decrying the incident as one of the most outrageous behaviors imaginable for an officer.
In June 2024, he faced two counts of official misconduct, subsequently being released on a $3,000 bond.
Herman’s plea agreement, filed at Nashville Crown Court, allowed him to plead “best interest” for a felony charge of official misconduct while maintaining a stance of de facto innocence. The second count was dropped, and he received a year of supervised probation.
To add to this unusual case, it was indicated that Herman has had his law enforcement credentials suspended indefinitely, though he may seek reinstatement once the legal matters are concluded.
