Trump will stop Ukraine funding during peace negotiations, according to the White House.

US Not Offering Free Funding for Ukraine Amid Negotiations

The White House has indicated that the United States is not looking to provide unrestricted funding for Ukraine as peace discussions between Russia and Ukraine continue.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted that President Donald Trump has ruled out deploying US troops to assist Ukraine, emphasizing his sensitivity to American taxpayers’ interests.

“He’s made it clear that we won’t be sending blank checks to distant wars. Instead, he proposed an innovative solution for NATO to purchase American weapons,” Leavitt stated. She hinted that further sales would be directed to the Department of Defense.

Recent updates from the Diplomatic Council suggest that the parliament has enacted several laws aimed at supporting Ukraine.

In a significant move, Trump approved a contract in July, enabling European allies to buy US weaponry, including the Patriot missile defense system, for Ukraine.

Leavitt’s statements echoed comments made by Vice President JD Vance, who, after a meeting with European leaders, mentioned that they were responsible for the funding of the Ukrainian war effort. He urged European leaders to take more initiative in resolving the ongoing conflict.

“This is right in your backyard,” Vance explained in an interview. “You all need to take more responsibility and engage more directly in this situation.”
