Austin Butler took action to protect his co-star Zoe Kravitz from an unexpected bee encounter during the British premiere of their film.
As Kravitz posed for photos, a bee startled her, prompting Butler to step in. The two tried to shoo the insect away from her face, but the situation quickly escalated with Butler circling the area, trying to keep the bee at bay.
This isn’t the first time a “Carry Diary” alum has had a memorable moment with a bee on the red carpet. Butler also previously tried to help Emma Stone fend off a persistent bee while at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
In that instance, Kravitz appeared visibly anxious as the bee buzzed around, while Butler took measures to blow it away. It seems that bees have an uncanny way of creating some dramatic moments during film events.
Butler’s latest film, “Catching and Stealing,” directed by Darren Aronofsky, features him as Hank, a bartender who becomes a baseball star entangled in the criminal underbelly of New York City in the 1990s. Kravitz plays his love interest, Yvonne.
During the premiere, Kravitz seemed startled as the bee circled around. Butler’s attempts to shield her from the pesky insect visibly amused those present.
Butler shared that he earned £35 for portraying a character with drinking issues in his film. He mentioned how he worked on his facial expressions to convey the character’s depth.
Rumors about a possible off-screen romance between Butler and Kravitz have been circulating, especially after they were spotted together at a theater performance in New York recently.
Although there’s speculation, sources indicated that their relationship may not be serious, especially after Kravitz’s previous engagement with Channing Tatum. One insider commented on how Butler represents a light-hearted distraction for her during this time.
