ICE Dismantles Human Trafficking Ring in Nebraska
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have taken down a large human trafficking operation in Nebraska, which they described as “violent” and linked to illegal aliens.
Authorities revealed that this operation was primarily based in motels and eyebrow salons throughout the Omaha metropolitan area.
On August 12, ICE agents rescued 27 individuals, among them 10 children under 12, from what officials called dire circumstances. These victims were found living in rooms infested with cockroaches and lacking basic hygiene, and they faced exploitation. Both adults and children were reportedly coerced into sex trafficking, with the motels also serving as venues for drug trafficking activities.
“Our brave ICE law enforcement rescued these children and women who were being sexually exploited and trafficked,” noted Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “President Trump and Secretary Noem will not allow children and women to be victims of these heinous human trafficking rings. Our message to human traffickers is clear: we will dismantle your networks, and you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. That’s a promise.”
As a result of this operation, five illegal aliens have been charged with a range of federal offenses linked to an alleged conspiracy involving labor and sex trafficking, as well as harboring undocumented individuals at motels in the Omaha area and beyond.
ICE has issued immigration detainers for these five individuals, who are identified as Indian nationals, to prevent their release into the community until their federal cases are resolved.
Those arrested include:
- Kentakumar Chaudhari, also known as Ken Chaudhari
- Rashmi Ajit Samani, also known as Falguni Samani
- Amit Prahladbhai Chaudhari, also known as Amit
- Amit Babubhai Chaudhari, also known as Matt
- Maheshkumar Chaudhari, also known as Mahesh
Additionally, the operation led to the arrest of 14 other illegal aliens who were living with the trafficking victims. Notable among them are:
- Guillermo Infante Arevalo, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico with a history of child endangerment, drug possession, and illegal reentry.
- Eudis Enrique Cuellar-Martinez, a criminal illegal alien from Venezuela facing pending felony drug charges.
- Pablo Martinez Canas, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador with multiple prior deportations and a criminal trespass charge.
In conjunction with federal partners, ICE confiscated over $565,000 in cash and illegal drugs during the operation, and they have initiated legal actions to block the sale of the involved motel properties.
All individuals detained will remain in custody as judicial proceedings unfold, but their mugshots haven’t been released to the media.
