VP JD Vance Accumulates Vacation Time
Since taking office in January, Vice President JD Vance has already managed to take more vacations than most people would dream of having in a decade. It’s interesting, really—this is the same person who built a name for himself by criticizing the “elite,” and now he seems to embody that lifestyle.
His latest getaway? A summer holiday in the Cotswolds, a picturesque area in England often likened to the “Hamptons of the UK.” He rented a lavish mansion that costs about $10,000 a week. Interestingly, there’s a small road near his digs that has seen numerous protests following him. It seems that this vacation has caught more attention than his desire for privacy.
This isn’t just a one-off. In fact, this trip marks his eighth holiday this year.
He’s been to places like Italy, India, Nantucket, Disneyland, Vermont, and Greenland. Some of these trips have even been labeled as “official business,” leading to taxpayer funds covering the expenses. For instance, one trip in March saw him flying to Greenland with the second lady, but it was cut short due to a lack of engagement from the Greenland government.
Can you believe that most people struggle to take time off, yet Vance seems to be jetting off almost every month? His social media often features him and his wife enjoying winter scenery, which stands in stark contrast to the everyday experiences of many Americans.
The Disneyland trip was particularly notable, as it was reportedly shut down just for his family. Then there was a luxurious dinner in San Diego that cost an astounding $2,500 per person. And let’s not forget his birthday kayak trip, which quite literally involved raising the Ohio River’s water levels for better paddling conditions. It’s hard not to see this as elite-level indulgence.
This leads to a pressing question: how does he manage all this time off? Many Americans struggle to get even two weeks of vacation without facing their boss. In comparison, his predecessors had far less personal time in their initial months. Mike Pence, for example, didn’t take any personal trips in his first six months, and Kamala Harris hadn’t taken one either.
Meanwhile, back home, families are grappling with rising costs for essentials like groceries, healthcare, and gas. It feels like everyday life is becoming more expensive, while JD Vance appears to be living in a completely different world, seemingly thriving on taking it easy.
The optics of it all are striking. As a figure tied to Donald Trump, one would think that appealing to working-class Americans would involve avoiding extravagant retreats globally. His actions can easily come off as disconnected from the struggles many face daily.
So, as bills pile up and access to healthcare diminishes, where’s JD Vance? Probably on another vacation—again.
The underlying message is clear. While average Americans work hard to make ends meet, JD Vance seems focused on planning his next getaway.
