Teen Charged with Murder of Parents in Georgia
A 17-year-old from Georgia, Sarah Grace Patrick, is facing accusations of murdering her mother and stepfather. Authorities report that Patrick is charged with the deaths of 41-year-old Christine Brock and 45-year-old James Brock. Shockingly, her 5-year-old sister discovered their bodies, just after the couple had been shot following a 911 call from Patrick.
Just days post-murder, Patrick attempted to bring attention to the situation by using TikTok to help authorities in their search for the culprit. However, she eventually surrendered to law enforcement on July 8th, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
Bond Hearing Insights
During a bond hearing, supporters described Patrick as a young woman who attended church regularly, emphasizing her lack of any prior criminal record. Her pastor shared that she made a personal choice to get baptized and often reached out for prayers while incarcerated.
One supporter expressed, “To hurt someone is not just her nature or personality,” while Patrick’s pastor reinforced that she was not the type to harm others.
However, prosecutors articulated their concerns regarding her potential release, indicating she might pose a threat to witnesses or could attempt to flee. “If the defendant can kill her own parents in such a violent way, I fear for my safety and that of my loved ones,” stated Kim Bowling, the sister of one victim. This sentiment was echoed by others, including Patrick’s stepbrother, who voiced similar fears about her trying to escape if given a chance.
Judge’s Decision and Future Trial
Ultimately, Judge Dustin Hightower sided with the prosecution, ruling that Patrick would be held without bail. He remarked, “This is not daytime court television; we’re here to apply the law…and I’ll do the best I can.”
Patrick has been charged as an adult with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault. Her trial is scheduled for January 5, 2026.
