Mike Vrabel Takes a Stand on Parking Misuse

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel isn’t shying away from a little confrontation, especially when it comes to parking violations at Starbucks.

The 50-year-old coach shared on his podcast that he often confronts individuals who occupy accessible parking spots without proper authorization. He remarked, “People parking in handicap spots just to grab a quick mobile order, they’re usually not disabled.”

Vrabel explained that he’s on the lookout for those who misuse accessible spaces. “When I wasn’t working, I had nothing better to do,” he noted. “I was able to sit there for 15 minutes just to see if this person really needed the spot.” He recounted a moment where he asked someone why they parked there, and she replied, “I’m with Doordash.” His response? “I don’t care.” He described watching her rush, thinking it was, well, a bit ridiculous.

In a chuckle-worthy confession, he mentioned feeling so frustrated that he sometimes fantasizes about, uh, slashing tires. “That’s how much it annoys me,” he said, although it’s likely more of an exaggerated expression of his irritation.

One suggestion from an associate was a more amusing form of retribution—using boots on the cars of repeat offenders. “Imagine a boot that says, ‘I parked in a handicap spot but I’m not disabled,’” he laughed.

Beyond misadventures in parking, Vrabel is reflecting on a challenging season ahead. Last year, his first as head coach saw the Patriots finish with a 4-13 record in the AFC East. He’s hoping for better outcomes as he leads the team forward.
