Negotiations Between Cowboys and Micah Parsons Continue

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones discussed the ongoing contract negotiations with star linebacker Micah Parsons during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” Thursday morning.

Jones talked with co-hosts Brian Kilmeade and Lawrence Jones about the current impasse with Parsons, who is in the final year of his rookie contract. Parsons has reportedly been pressing for a new deal, but talks have stalled.

Jones acknowledged Parsons as an exceptional talent, emphasizing that the linebacker is crucial to the team dynamic. “Micah is a great player, not just a good one. He understands the team better than anyone,” Jones remarked. He also pointed out that assembling the right pieces around Parsons is key for team success, referring to the negotiations as part of the intricate process of managing player contracts.

Despite the ongoing issues, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed confidence that Parsons would be ready for the team’s season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on September 4th. “I feel good about it,” Schottenheimer said, adding that it would be great to see Parsons on the field against the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Currently, Parsons is at the Cowboys’ training camp in Oxnard, California, where he has been observing practices from the sidelines. While he has been seen alongside Jones, it appears there hasn’t been much direct conversation between Parsons’ representatives and the Cowboys’ management during this time.

Negotiations remain a central focus as fans and team officials alike hope for a resolution that benefits both Parsons and the Cowboys as they prepare for the upcoming season.
