Scott Jennings Stirs CNN Panel by Discussing Why Democrats Are Losing Voters

Panel Discussion on Voter Shifts

A left-leaning panelist expressed frustration during a discussion when Republican strategist Scott Jennings highlighted the significant voter shift toward Republicans since the 2020 elections, with over 4 million net new voters. This change comes in the backdrop of a 2.1 million drop in Democratic voter registrations across 30 states, while Republican registrations have increased by 2.4 million. Jennings pointed to the Democrats’ stance on illegal immigration, crime, and their reactions to pro-Hamas protests following the recent attacks in Israel by Hamas, which resulted in over 1,200 deaths.

“I believe Democrats are losing voters because they’re choosing the wrong districts,” Jennings remarked. “It seems like their priorities lie more with illegal immigrants than with law-abiding citizens.” He added that when politicians take such positions, it often drives voters toward the opposing party.

Democrat strategist Allencia Johnson quickly refuted Jennings’ claims, insisting, “That’s not true. You know it’s not necessarily true.” The debate continued, with Jennings backing his point by questioning the presence of Democrats who openly support illegal immigration.

Adam Mockler, a content creator, responded to Jennings by suggesting that Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen was one example, only for Jennings to challenge that assertion, claiming Van Hollen never said such a thing.

In another context, Maryland’s Senator Van Hollen and other Democrats were involved in discussions regarding Kilmer Abrego Garcia, a member of MS-13, wanting him to be returned to the U.S. after being deported to El Salvador. There was a notable meeting in April between Van Hollen and Garcia at a prison, underscoring the political complexities involved.

Mockler maintained that Garcia was brought back to the U.S. because of unfair deportation by the administration, which adds to the ongoing debate over immigration policy. This complicated situation is just one aspect of a larger narrative surrounding the current administration and its immigration approach.
