Jasmine Crockett Criticizes Trump in Recent Podcast
During a podcast interview with California Governor Gavin Newsom, Representative Jasmine Crockett from Texas expressed strong skepticism toward former President Donald Trump and his supporters, labeling them as unpatriotic.
Crockett pointed out that Trump has historically attempted to manipulate Congress, his own administration, and the courts to benefit himself. “It really isn’t just about party lines,” she explained. “It’s about what’s right for America. And in my opinion, waving flags doesn’t mean much if you’re undermining the very principles those flags represent.” She argues that some of the most unpatriotic individuals in the country are those in Trump’s camp.
Further criticizing Trump, Crockett remarked that he disrespects the Constitution while claiming to uphold it, especially when it comes to the military. “You can’t cherish the Constitution while simultaneously harming the freedoms of those it’s meant to protect,” she added.
In response, White House Press Secretary Liz Houston defended Trump, asserting that he heads a profoundly patriotic political movement. The two have engaged in a war of words lately, with insults being exchanged—Democrats using derogatory terms for Trump and the former president labeling Crockett as “low IQ.”
In another podcast with Katie Couric, Crockett reiterated her disdain for Trump supporters, calling it a “sickness.” She believes that despite differing political affiliations, Americans should unite against Trump. “There’s a mental health crisis in our country,” Crockett said, suggesting that supporting Trump is part of that issue. She pointedly criticized Trump’s use of national security measures to suppress dissent, labeling it a form of retaliation.
Responding to Crockett’s remarks, Leavitt noted that, as of now, Crockett does not seem to possess the same ambitions as Trump. It’s clear that tensions between these political figures continue to escalate.
