Stone Criticizes Bolton Following FBI Raid
Roger Stone, a veteran Republican consultant, has openly criticized John Bolton, who was previously a key adviser to Donald Trump. This comes in light of an FBI raid at Bolton’s residence in Bethesda, Maryland, which occurred recently.
In a post on social media, Stone referenced his experience from years ago, saying, “Good morning. John Bolton. How about having your house raided at 6am?” He then recalled the FBI’s raid on his own Fort Lauderdale home, suggesting that he felt a certain justice in Bolton facing a similar situation. “Where was CNN?” he questioned, presumably hinting at media inconsistency.
Stone, known for his frankness, expressed that the repercussions of actions can catch up with individuals, stating, “what goes around comes around.” He persistently defends himself, emphasizing, “nothing wrong” in his past actions. He also took the opportunity to post a photo of himself from his arrest, showcasing a shirt with the slogan “Nothing Wrong with Roger Stone.”
Raid on Bolton’s Properties
Federal agents reportedly targeted Bolton’s home and office, and Stone, continuing his critique, shared two contrasting photos of them. He asserted, “The man on the left evaluated the house at 6am because he did something wrong. The man on the right attacked the house at 6am because he didn’t. Karma is b—-.” This commentary underscores the animosity between them.
In an ironic twist, Stone also released a mock statement saying that Bolton recognized his famous mustache, claiming it had been “appropriated by a member of the villagers.” Bolton, who has held diplomatic roles under both George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, fell out of favor with Trump over various issues, including the administration’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Stone has previously come to Bolton’s defense, especially after Bolton criticized Trump’s decisions related to national intelligence, specifically regarding Tulsi Gabbard. He suggested that Bolton’s harsh words only solidified Gabbard’s suitability for her role.
After the incident at Bolton’s home, FBI agents were also seen in Dupont Circle, Washington, D.C., carrying out actions in connection with their investigation.
