Tragic Murder-Suicide in New Hampshire
A mother from New Hampshire has been at the center of a heartbreaking murder-suicide after taking the lives of her husband and two children. Emily Long, 34, expressed her struggles in a poignant TikTok video, where she shared feelings of despair over her husband’s battle with cancer.
In the video, which has garnered attention online, Emily claimed to feel a certain “fame” within her life alongside her 48-year-old husband, Ryan Long. He was reportedly facing the harsh reality of an aggressive brain tumor.
During the seven-minute clip titled “Watch Me Miong brag on My My My Musming,” she tearfully described Ryan as “the best man on this planet” and “a phenomenally perfect man.” This praise, however, was intertwined with a stark recognition of their contrasting personalities, indicating that Ryan was more grounded and thoughtful, while she identified as impulsive and emotionally driven.
She reflected on how much she admired his ethical decision-making and mentioned the valuable life lessons he imparted to her, like the importance of vulnerability and seeking help. “I think one thing I miss is that I can show him how great he is, and he can enjoy it,” she lamented.
Emily’s video documented her feelings of isolation and fear about facing life without Ryan. She candidly admitted, “This video doesn’t make sense except that I feel sorry for myself. I’m afraid of how my life will change and how difficult it will be for me.” She feared losing the wonderful experiences that came with their relationship.
Prior to the tragic events, Emily had posted multiple TikToks revealing her need for professional help, although the exact timing of these posts remains unclear. The disturbing incident unfolded early Monday in their home in Madbury, where the bodies of Ryan, along with their two sons, Parker, 8, and Ryan, 6, were discovered. Thankfully, their three-year-old child was found alive, albeit unscathed.
Authorities have classified Emily’s death as suicide, while the three family members were ruled as homicide. The motives remain unclear, but the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office has acknowledged that various issues may have existed within the household at the time of the tragedy. They cautioned against assuming any single cause or stressor led to the heartbreaking event.
