Joe Burrow prepared to introduce the final piece to his Bengals performance

Joe Burrow’s Confidence for the 2025 NFL Season

As the 2025 season approaches, Joe Burrow feels more confident than ever. After the Bengals missed the playoffs for the second consecutive year in 2024, he’s eager to prove the skeptics wrong.

“I’m not sure anyone is playing better than us right now,” Burrow mentioned in a conversation. “I’m pretty confident in my ability to show up and perform every Sunday. It’s about consistency, and I think legends can reinforce their greatness year after year.”

He further explained that he’s working on maintaining discipline in his training, simplifying certain aspects, and making the tough plays look easy, striving for improvement each week.

It’s been a challenging journey for Burrow over his five-year career. His rookie year in 2020 was heavily impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and a torn ACL. The following year, he faced a dislocated pinky finger and a sprained MCL just as the Super Bowl approached.

In 2023, he dealt with a calf injury that sidelined him from two Pro Bowls early in the season, and he managed to play only 10 games. Despite a wrist injury last year, he still had a standout season, leading the NFL with 4,918 passing yards and throwing for 43 touchdowns. He landed third in passer ratings and fourth in completion percentage.

The injuries certainly impacted the Bengals’ performance over the years; they lost the Super Bowl to the Rams in 2021 and were defeated in the AFC Championship the next year. However, Burrow is committed to upholding the high standards he sets for himself, as well as pushing his team to excel.

“We aim to be the best offense in the NFL,” he declared.

To achieve this, Burrow has reached out to other successful athletes, including Kevin Durant, a 15-time All-Star and two-time NBA champion. He sought advice on how to maintain consistency and maximize his teammates’ potentials.

“He really provided valuable insight,” Burrow noted.

With a 9-8 finish in 2024 that saw the Bengals narrowly miss the playoffs, Burrow hopes to replicate his strong performance without the burden of injuries come February’s training camp.
