DOJ shares interview with Ghislaine Maxwell, bringing back unresolved issues in Epstein case

Justice Department Releases Maxwell Interview Transcripts

The Justice Department has made available various transcripts and audio recordings from a meeting involving Associate Attorney General Todd Blanche and Ghislaine Maxwell.

A prominent official from the Trump administration held discussions with Maxwell and her attorney, David Oscar Marx, over two days in a federal prison located in Tallahassee, Florida, last July. This was after Maxwell had been sentenced to 20 years.

During these recordings, it was clear that Maxwell remains unconvinced that Jeffrey Epstein took his own life in 2019. She maintains that Epstein had no client list and dismisses the significance of his death, implying that he hasn’t faced any real charges regarding threats or coercion against anyone.

In the prison, Maxwell commented on the dangers present, stating, “In the prison where I am, they’ll kill you or pay you. Someone can kill you on a commission worth $25 to the prisoner.” It’s a pretty stark picture of her environment.

She also denied any knowledge of inappropriate behavior involving Trump and former President Bill Clinton. Maxwell outright rejected the suggestion that Clinton visited Epstein’s island, explaining that while Trump and Epstein appeared friendly, this didn’t mean they were close friends.

Maxwell shared her admiration for Trump, noting, “President Trump has always been so sincerely kind, and I just want to say I found him… I admire his extraordinary achievements in becoming president.” She has repeatedly expressed positive views about him.

Additionally, Maxwell refuted claims that she introduced Epstein to Prince Andrew, labeling allegations that Epstein was working with intelligence agencies as nonsense.

Blanche, in releasing the interview files, commented on the transparency of the process, stating, “It contains all the words except for the victim’s name. Nothing was removed. Nothing is hidden.” This was reaffirmed by Marx, who praised the Justice Department’s decision, emphasizing that they view Maxwell as innocent in this case.

According to Marx, “The government has admitted that it doesn’t even consider her a co-conspirator during the extensive investigation of Epstein.” He emphasized their gratitude for the publications, encouraging people to form their own opinions.
