Travian Robertson in Stable Condition Following Car Accident
Travian Robertson, the defensive line coach for the University of South Carolina and a former NFL player, is in stable condition following a car accident that occurred on Friday morning. The university released a statement indicating that Robertson, who is in his third year with the Gamecocks, is expected to make a full recovery.
Director Shane Beamer expressed hope for Robertson’s recovery in the statement, which also urged that prayers be extended to all families affected by the accident. The statement emphasized the importance of respecting the privacy of Robertson’s family during this challenging time.
Reports indicate that Robertson, 36, suffered a severe lower limb injury in the incident. Details surrounding the accident remain unclear, but sources suggested it involved a head-on collision. Following the crash, he underwent surgery on his ankle at a hospital.
Robertson’s background includes being drafted in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons, where he played in 12 games over two seasons. He also had a brief stint with the Seattle Seahawks and was signed by Washington in 2014 before being released prior to the start of the 2015 season.
The Gamecocks will face Virginia Tech on August 31st, but Robertson will not be on the sidelines for the season opener.
