Lionel Richie Targeted in Home Burglary
Music icon Lionel Richie was taken aback on Saturday when his house was burglarized while he was at his mansion in Los Angeles.
The 76-year-old artist, as reported, relied on his surveillance system to alert him of the situation. He called the police immediately after his alarm went off, indicating an intruder was about to enter the home just after midnight.
The Beverly Hills Police Department has since arrested a suspect, identified as Michael John Bond, in connection with this attempted break-in.
Sadly, Richie is not alone in facing such invasions. Many celebrities in Hollywood have dealt with theft and property damage recently, making the area one of the most notorious for robberies in the country.
For instance, actress Sophia Bush was left shocked when a man stole from her before breaking into her garage and escaping. Similarly, actress Sidney Sweeney found herself dialing the police after spotting a neighbor trying to break into her LA residence.
Model Daniela Braga, known for her work with Victoria’s Secret, experienced a break-in where thieves reportedly made off with more than a million dollars’ worth of items.
In another incident, two masked individuals attempted to enter the home of Modern Family star Sarah Hyland. Actor Lee Byung-hun, recognized from the series Squid Game, also suffered a break-in at his LA home, fortunately without being present at the time.
This sequence of events prompted concerns, especially following a robbery at comedian and producer Lena Waithe’s home, where over $200,000 worth of jewelry was stolen. Even Kevin Connolly’s house was broken into, with thieves entering through the back door and making off with firearms and other possessions.
Additionally, actor Keanu Reeves experienced a break-in at his Hollywood Hills residence, where the thief took a gun. Instagram model Abigail Ratchford was alarmed by intruders slamming windows while gaining entry to her home.
Rocker Tommy Lee’s house also faced an unfortunate event, with reports of destruction while he was away. Furthermore, the LA home of rapper Megan Thee Stallion was robbed, resulting in the loss of valuable belongings worth hundreds of thousands.
Actor and comedian Arsenio Hall has been involved in a couple of break-in attempts at his LA home as well. The residence of famous tattoo artist and model Kat Von D was also reportedly targeted, and an armed individual was arrested after attempting to enter the home of actress Alexandra Daddario.
