Trump Nominates Sergio Gaul as Ambassador to India
President Donald Trump has put forward the name of Sergio Gaul to serve as the US ambassador to India. Gaul, who has been recognized positively by senior administration officials, is noted for his loyalty and competence, even receiving commendations from FBI directors.
Currently serving as the White House director of presidential nominations, Gaul’s appointment has drawn praise from various members of the Trump administration. The announcement made last Friday sparked a wave of congratulations from those who have worked alongside him in federal appointments.
FBI Director Kash Patel tweeted his support, calling Gaul an “outstanding” choice for the position. White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt characterized Gaul as a key figure who has helped build Trump’s human resources team, referring to him as “the great ambassador” for the administration abroad.
Vice President JD Vance also commended Gaul’s contributions. He mentioned that Gaul has been integral to recent successes and expressed gratitude to the President for this new opportunity for him. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche described Gaul as a “great choice,” acknowledging that his presence will be missed.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent highlighted Gaul’s loyalty as one of Trump’s most trusted advisors, stating he will effectively represent American interests in one of the world’s most populous regions. Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem echoed this sentiment, emphasizing Gaul’s role in furthering the administration’s agenda for freedom.
Howard Lutnick, Secretary of Commerce, recognized Gaul as a dedicated advocate for Trump, while Kari Lake, Senior Advisor for Global Media, welcomed the appointment, dubbing Gaul “one of the most loyal soldiers” in Trump’s campaign efforts.
In his announcement, Trump underscored Gaul’s record in assembling a proficient team, boasting that Gaul and his team have appointed nearly 4,000 individuals to various government sectors efficiently. He expressed confidence that Gaul would excel as an ambassador.
Gaul’s background includes significant involvement in conservative politics and publishing. He once led the Young Americas Foundation while attending George Washington University and later co-founded Victory Team Publishing, which published Trump’s notable works. Before his nomination, he managed Trump’s super PAC, America, and served in a leadership role heading the Presidential Personnel Bureau.
The Senate is set to review Gaul’s nomination, and until it is confirmed, he will maintain his responsibilities within the White House’s administrative staff.
