Nelly Furtado takes a jab at body-shamers with her outfit at Manchester Pride

Nelly Furtado shared a witty message with Body Shermer during an online conversation regarding her body image and stage outfits.

At Manchester Pride on Sunday, while performing her hit “I’m Like a Bird,” she donned an oversized T-shirt that showcased a cartoon figure with an hourglass shape, complete with a crop top, a denim miniskirt, and a nod to her 2000 debut album.

The back of the shirt featured a playful tattoo of a cartoon character.

Furtado, age 46, accessorized her quirky look with fishnet tights and colorful boots that cockily proclaimed “unprecedented.”

Her recent outfit choices resonated with her fans. For a significant performance in the UK on Friday night, she sported a denim bra and skirt by Stella Singi.

A pinstriped trench coat from Samuel Gertner, along with knee-high “Oops, Nelly!” boots, rounded off her ensemble.

Furtado shared pictures of her outfits to Instagram, garnering plenty of positive feedback.

Another striking outfit during Manchester Pride included bold accessories like fishnet tights, metallic purple gloves, and a silver choker.

Fans showered her with compliments online, one saying, “Gorgeous. Thank you to Babes, born in the 80s, for showing us something so old and still amazing ❤️🇨🇦.” Another added, “As usual, stunning!!! That style…grrrrrrrrrrrr🔥.”

This January, she addressed false rumors about her body while posing in an orange bikini on Instagram.

She reflected, “This year, I have realized in a brand new way the aesthetic pressure of my work, but at the same time I have experienced a new level of self-love and true confidence from within.”

Furtado clarified, “For those who care, I haven’t recently had face or body surgery or augmentation. I haven’t had any kind of facial or lip injections or fillers.”

Encouraging her fans, she said, “I know I’m completely alright to express myself freely, celebrate your individuality, and be comfortable with what you see in the mirror.”

She concluded, “I embrace Body Neutral 2025, but more importantly, I love every inch of your heart♥♥.”
