During the season 7 reunion of Love Island USA, Huda Mustafa stated he cannot discuss his current relationship, citing a legal obligation to Netflix.
At the beginning of the episode, Maddix inquired about Mustafa’s dating life after her split from Chris Shealy during the season finale. Mustafa, 24, recently gained attention for appearing on the red carpet with fellow reality star Louis Russell. However, she mentioned to the co-host that she was unable to talk about her relationship for “legal reasons.”
“It’s Netflix,” Mustafa emphasized. “I’m not allowed to discuss it.”
When Cohen pressed her, asking, “Wouldn’t Netflix require you to talk if you’re dating someone?” she replied, “Unfortunately, I’m not going to discuss it. I’m sorry.”
Even with Cohen noticing her holding hands with Russell on the red carpet, Mustafa maintained her stance. “I’m not allowed to talk about it, sorry,” she reiterated. Cohen responded, “Alright, just tell Netflix that this was the top streaming show of the summer.”
Though Mustafa did not clarify the reasons behind her silence, fans speculate it may relate to The Perfect Match Season 3, where Russell was a contestant. The reunion filming occurred earlier this month, before the third season concluded airing on Netflix.
The streaming platform even added to the confusion by humorously altering Mustafa’s bio on X (formerly Twitter) to say, “Don’t @Me Idk!!!”
After the reunion, Mustafa addressed Cohen’s inquiries through messages on her TikTok story.
“I prefer to share relationship details on my own terms. This isn’t just a television show,” she wrote. “We feel pressure to open up, especially when it’s excessive, which can be uncomfortable, and we appreciate it when that’s respected.”
