Chicago, Illinois (August 26, 2025) – News Nation, the rapidly expanding cable news network in the U.S., has announced the launch of a new weekend show featuring journalist and author Batya Ungar-Sargon, set to premiere on Saturday, September 20th. This show will have a replay at 11pm. Ungar-Sargon, known for her insightful commentary and analysis, will add depth to NewsNation’s daytime and primetime offerings.
Her show, simply titled “Batya,” will run between 1pm and 4pm, alongside Anna Koeman’s segment, while Kelly Beeson will host from 5pm to 8pm. Additionally, “News Nation Prime” with Natasha Zouves is now extended, airing from 8pm to 11pm on both Saturdays and Sundays.
“Batya brings a valuable perspective to understanding the sentiments of our nation today,” expressed Michael Kohn, the president of News Nation’s Programming & Special. “We see Newsnation as a platform for every American voice, and we’re excited to present Ungar-Sargon’s unique insights while expanding our weekend coverage.”
The show will feature a diverse panel of guests, from prominent politicians to media figures, with Ungar-Sargon providing her independent take on significant current issues.
Currently, Ungar-Sargon contributes as a columnist for Free Press and is the author of three books: Bad News: How Awakened Media Can Undermine Democracy, Second Class: How Elites Betrayed Working Men and Women in America, and the forthcoming Left and Jews.
Prior to her time at Free Press, she served as the opinion editor at Newsweek and has made appearances on popular shows like Real Time with Bill Maher, The Megyn Kelly Show, and others. Additionally, she regularly writes for several publications, including the New York Post and Compact Magazine.
A graduate of the University of Chicago, Ungar-Sargon holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Berkeley.
