Criminal immigrants taken into custody by DHS amid growing criticism.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has criticized certain politicians for what they describe as “false sob stories” regarding Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a gang member. In a statement to Fox News Digital, the DHS claimed that these politicians and activists are misrepresenting Garcia, who they categorize as a human trafficker and domestic abuser.

On Monday, DHS arrested several individuals, including Arturo Lopez-Ramirez, an undocumented Mexican immigrant previously convicted of sodomy in California, and Julio Cave Ilopez Rivera, who was found guilty of child injury in Texas.

Meanwhile, another illegal immigrant, Darlin Jos Martinez Espinoza from Honduras, was apprehended in Texas after being convicted of aggravated sexual assault and driving while intoxicated. In Queens, New York, DHS arrested Edgar Steven Rivera Villanueva, also an undocumented immigrant from Honduras. Additionally, Salvador Hernandez Aguilar from Mexico was arrested in New Jersey for resisting arrest and theft.

DHS emphasized that these arrests highlight their ongoing efforts to crack down on illegal immigration crimes. In a statement, a senior DHS official noted the severity of the crimes associated with these individuals, claiming that the agency is committed to removing violent offenders from communities across the U.S.

The agency declared, “From Texas to New York and California, officers are targeting the most dangerous criminals,” stressing that America is no longer a haven for those involved in crime. A senior official further mentioned that the crackdown began under the Trump administration, where they were tasked with pursuing criminals impacting American neighborhoods.

This recent activity has drawn the ire of several Democratic leaders, particularly after the DHS detained Kilmar Abrego Garcia and hinted at his potential deportation to Uganda. A federal judge ruled in favor of temporarily blocking the administration’s plans. Chris Newman, an attorney representing Garcia’s family, responded to the situation, calling the claims against his client entirely unfounded.

The DHS has accused politicians of siding with gang members rather than focusing on the safety of American citizens, vowing that they will no longer tolerate the actions of individuals associated with gangs or violent crimes.
